Stories Etched in Scarlet

Scarlet Sorrows Art is the creative identity of Jacksonville native artist and curator Jolene DuBray, in residence at Solune Coffee.

Through bold exhibitions, live painting, and figure study sessions, Jolene transforms shared spaces into raw, expressive encounters with art. As curator at Solune, she highlights artists who bring honesty and intensity to their work.

Explore the work, connect with upcoming events or join Figure Study sessions every Wednesday, and discover how Jolene can help bring more art into your life.

Community Creator

I’m Jolene DuBray, the artist behind Scarlet Sorrows Art. My work uses vivid color and texture to explore the beauty within unexpected places. I have a background in art and curatorial work, and I use my experience to bring art into diverse spaces.

Based in Jacksonville, FL, I create personal, reflective, symbolic, and narrative artwork that channels raw, emotional experiences through bold colors, intricate textures, and gilded details. My most recent work strives to transform challenging themes into something beautiful. Beyond my studio, I bring my art to life through live events celebrating creativity with a wider audience.
